Ngoolark the Black Cockatoo

Ngoolark is the Noongar name for the Carnaby Black Cockatoo, which is endemic to the Southwest of Western Australia. The Ngoolark has significance to Caversham Valley PS as it is often seen flying over the school and perching in the eucalyptus trees on the school grounds. For this reason, it was chosen to be the mascot for our school values.

The artwork below was designed by one of our talented parents, Silke Zaknich.
